The SURF program is a new initiative approved as part of the 2010 Budget that provides an annual $100.00 credit to an active water account if
all
of the following criteria are met:
1. You own and occupy property in Fort Erie as your principal residence; and
2. Are 65 years of age or older; and
3. Receive the Guaranteed Income Supplement (GIS)
Applications are available at Town Hall and on the Town's website at
www.forterie.on.ca
and must be submitted between May 1st and October 31st of each year. Proof of age and receipt of GIS benefits must be provided with the application. The $100.00 credit will be applied to eligable water accounts during November. The credit is not transferable and there are no cash refunds.
