Fort Erie Town Hall (a.k.a. the Civic Centre) officially opened on June 26, 1995 in the presence of the Honourable Henry N.R. Jackman, C.M., K. St.J., LL.D., Lieutenant Governor of Ontario. Town Hall is 3,300 square metres (35,500 square feet) in size and at the time of construction cost $4.677 million to build.  Town Hall provides:

  • an improved work environment;
  • operational and financial efficiencies of consolidated human resources, office equipment, supplies and records from four sites to one;
  • savings of 10 to 15% in heating/air conditioning and energy costs;
  • barrier-free accessibility for physically challenged and elderly residents;
  • improved staff and customer parking;
  • an on-site Council Chamber (previously met at Library); and
  • an outward appearance projecting a vibrant, progressive image of Fort Erie.
