Environmental Advisory Committee

To assist the Community and Development Services Department and Town Council with managing and conserving the natural environment in Fort Erie.

Review development applications with a change or intensification of use to Natural Heritage features;
Ensure proposals will not impact the Town's Natural Areas Inventory for which the site was designated;
Assess the significance of potential environmental impacts of a proposal;
Determine whether impacts can be mitigated to follow the Natural Heritage policies of the Town's Official Plan;
Help review or update Town/Regional/Provincial policies related to natural heritage protection;
Create educational programs;
Promote public awareness and stewardship of Fort Erie's natural heritage.

8 citizen appointees and 1 Member of Council.

Preference will is given to individuals with a demonstrated:

the knowledge, expertise or skill set related to natural heritage in Fort Erie,
the ability to interpret or experience in interpreting mapping or technical information,
the ability to understand the planning process and municipal government and agency roles.

We are looking for at least one member from each of the following groups:
