Bay Beach Admissions
COVID-19 UPDATE | Fort Erie is temporarily restricting access to Bay Beach (also known as Crystal Beach) and limiting patron capacity in 2021. To access Bay Beach this summer, beachgoers must present an eligible Bay Beach pass (restrictions apply) as well as proof of residency such as a driver’s licence.
Beachgoers can access Bay Beach (based on the admission matrix below) by showing proof of residency such as a driver’s licence as well as using one of three eligible 2021 Bay Beach passes (restrictions apply):
- Resident Season Pass
- Commercial Season Pass
- Day Pass
*Visitors from regions marked as Grey by the Province will be restricted.
Resident Season Passes
Fort Erie residents and taxpayers only can purchase a 2021 Bay Beach Resident Season Pass for $10 each when the Provincial Stay-at-Home Order ends, currently scheduled for June 2, 2021. This date may be postponed if the Province extends its Stay-At-Home order. One pass may be purchased for each member of the household who is 11 years old or over. Children 10 years and under are free. Proof of residency (such as a driver’s licence or tax bill) must be shown at the time of purchase. Bay Beach passes can be picked up at either the Leisureplex, Crystal Ridge Arena or Bay Beach during select times and days. Days/Times will be available shortly.
Those who own a property in Fort Erie but whose permanent address is located outside Fort Erie must bring their Resident Season Pass, proof of I.D. (i.e. health card, driver's license, passport) and proof of property ownership (recent tax bill, water bill, hydro bill) to gain access to Bay Beach. Resident Season Passes are for personal use and are not transferable.
Commercial Season Passes
Fort Erie short-term rental operators can purchase one or more Commercial Season Passes for $100 each when the Province moves Niagara into Orange, Yellow or Green. A commercial pass is transferable to renters; however, is only valid when Niagara Region is in Orange, Yellow or Green. If a renter resides in a region that is marked Grey by the Province, they will be denied entry to Bay Beach even with a valid commercial pass. Town Staff will email registered short-term rental operators when the commercial passes are available for purchase (i.e. when Niagara moves to Orange).
Day Passes will be available when Niagara Region is in Orange, Yellow or Green. A Day Pass is only valid if the person:
- resides in an eligible region AND
- shows identification proving residency (e.g. driver’s licence).
A day pass can be purchased at Bay Beach for $5 each (credit/debit only). Children 10 years and under are free.
Hours of Operation
Bay Beach hours of operation are Monday to Sunday (including holidays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. All Town beaches are closed from 11 p.m. to 6 a.m. daily. Public access to the beach is permitted outside hours of operation unless the park is closed.
