Bay Beach Master Plan

BAY BEACH MASTER PLAN 

The Bay Beach property was purchased by the Town of Fort Erie in 2001. A variety of development scenarios have been explored since that time. In 2015, the Town undertook the Bay Beach Master Plan, in an effort to establish community consensus on how the property should develop in the short and long term, and establish an implementation strategy.

Ultimately, development of the Bay Beach lands should support Crystal Beach as a mixed use destination with recreational, commercial and residential/rental accommodation facilities and activities, and serve as a catalyst in stimulating growth and development for a year-round tourist/recreational destination.

A community driven strategy resulted from an extensive public consultation process that involved hundreds of community members and stakeholder groups, over a 6 month period in 2015. The Bay Beach Master Plan was approved by Council on January 11, 2016, along with a strategy to commence implementation of the plan.

Bay Beach Park opened to the public on May 26, 2019.
