Crystal Ridge Park Improvements

Crystal Ridge Park is located in Crystal Beach, and is classified as one of four Community Parks within Fort Erie. It serves the neighbourhoods of Crystal Beach, Ridgeway, and Thunder Bay. The park was originally opened to the public in the 1960s, is approximately 9.6 hectares in size, and contains Fort Erie’s only municipal football field, an informal baseball diamond, a pavilion, a playground, a splashpad and over 3 hectares of wooded area complete with recreation trails.

With several outdated park amenities, this Park is need of renovation to ensure it meets the current needs of the community. The Town commissioned the preparation of a Park Master Plan in 2009 which Dillon Consulting prepared. It was presented to and approved by council in 2010.  Funding has been approved to proceed with implementation of the Master Plan in 2017.

2017 Master Plan Update

Dillon Consulting has been tasked by the Town in updating the 2010 Crystal Ridge Master Plan to ensure it continues to reflect the needs of the community and recreational trends. Dillon Consulting will be meeting with park stakeholders and the community through January and February 2017, to receive feedback on the 2010 Plan. An updated Master Plan will be presented to Council, after which detailed design of all site components and the preparation of construction documentation will take place. Phased construction is scheduled to begin in the fall of 2017.
