Seniors Utility Relief Fund program

The Town of Fort Erie offers assistance to seniors who qualify for its Seniors Utility Relief Fund program (SURF). SURF provides seniors with an annual $125.00 credit to an active water account. To be eligible for the SURF program you must:

Be 65 years of age or older on December 31, 2022, AND 
Be in receipt of a Guaranteed Income Supplement under the Old Age Security Act, AND
Be a Town of Fort Erie property owner and live at the property, AND
Be a Town of Fort Erie water customer.

Applications are available at Town Hall and online, and must be submitted between May 1st and October 31st of each year. Proof of age and receipt of GIS benefits must be provided with the application. The $125.00 credit will be applied to eligible water accounts during November.
