Cannabis Legislation and Policy Study Recommendations
Description
The Federal Cannabis Act came into effect in October 2018, legalizing the production, sale and use of cannabis for recreational purposes in Canada. While the production of cannabis is addressed by the Fort Erie Official Plan and the Town’s Comprehensive Zoning By-law, these development policies are reflective of the 2014 Marijuana for Medical Purposes Regulations. With the 2018 change in legislation, commercial cannabis production is now permitted for both medical and recreational purposes. The Town’s planning policies no longer capture the full range of legal uses. Meeting was held virtually

You can participate and watch the virtual meetings in three different ways:
