Volunteering
If you have an interest in helping to preserve local history, consider joining our group of dedicated museum volunteers.
Potential volunteer tasks could include collection research, archival transcription, data entry or digitization. Assignments depend on volunteer’s interests/skills and staff availability for preparation and supervision.
Time Commitment: Volunteering could be once a week or project by project basis.
Location: Most projects would be based out of the Historical Museum, located at 402 Ridge Road North in Ridgeway.

Community Hours
If you are in high school looking to acquire community service hours before you graduate, contact museum services to see what opportunities we may have during school breaks. Tasks may include, data entry, archival transcription, digitization or program/special event assistance.

You can donate through the link here* or by visiting one of our museum sites to donate by cash or card.
Donating to the Collection
Thank you for your interest in donating to the Museum! Please contact us with your donation request prior to bringing it to the Museum. For insurance purposes, we cannot accept walk-in or drop-off donations without a signed Gift Agreement.
Please let us know what you would like to donate, any background on the items, and if possible, photos of the items, and we will get back to you.

Memorial Fund
The Museum has created a Memorial Fund for people wishing to celebrate the life of a loved one with a donation in their memory.
Gifts to the Memorial Fund are invested in perpetuity and the income derived from it supports Museum operations. Income tax receipts are available for donations over $20.00.

Museum and Cultural Heritage Advisory Committee
The mutual objectives of the Museum Services Standing Committee and the Municipal Heritage Standing Committee shall be as follows:
- Actively promote cultural heritage and conservation by recognizing the non-renewable nature of cultural heritage resources and the contribution they make to the character, civic pride, tourism potential, economic benefits, and historical appreciation of the community
- Promote awareness of Fort Erie's cultural heritage within and outside the boundaries of the Town
- Develop a work plan for Committee projects that does not infringe upon the functions of Museum Services or Land Use Policy Planning
- Monitor the Committee's budget expenditures and recommend budget adjustments as necessary
- Monitor the progress of the Committee's work plan
- Observe and meet Committee relevant municipal, provincial and federal legislative requirements
- Only exercise such powers and do such other acts and things as are provided in this Terms of Reference
