To run for Mayor, Councillor or School Board Trustee in 2022, candidates must file a nomination paper.
Nominations are open starting May 2, 2022, during regular business hours (8:30 am to 4:30 pm) until Nomination Day on August 19, 2022, when the papers can only be submitted until 2:00 pm.
You cannot raise or spend money on your campaign until you file a nomination paper.
Deadline for filing or withdrawing nominations: Nominations may be filed only between the hours of 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. People can withdraw nomination papers, in writing, before 2:00 pm.
One (1) to be elected, at large within the Town. Also serves as a member of Regional Council.
Six (6) to be elected, one (1) from each of the six (6) municipal wards:
One (1) to be elected to represent the Town of Fort Erie at the Regional Municipality of Niagara.
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie and Port Colborne
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie, Port Colborne and Wainfleet
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie, Niagara Falls, Pelham, Port Colborne, Thorold, Welland and Wainfleet
One (1) to be elected for the combined area of Fort Erie, Port Colborne, Wainfleet, Pelham and Welland
