The mission of the Engineering Division is to provide the town with physical assets such as water, sewers and drainage, roads and project design. We provide assistance and advice to ratepayers and external agencies. The Engineering Division staff make a continuous effort to ensure that Town operations maintain these physical assets, replace those in need of replacement, and make new investments to support the community's quality of life and prosperity.
Similar to Building Permits, applications for Service Install Permits (SIP1) and Driveway Entrance Permits (DEP1) follow a structured review process to ensure compliance with municipal standards.
Current Service Standards
Initial review of all permit submissions will be completed within 10 business days. Where revisions or missing information is found, the application will be returned with guidance. Once the applicant has addressed the changes, via the secure portal link provided in your email, the 10-business-day review will begin again.
Applicants are strongly encouraged to carefully review the General Installation Specifications, which are referenced in the first paragraph and included with each application form. These documents outline key requirements and highlight common issues that may result in a returned application.
