Whether you’re organizing a small neighbourhood effort or a larger event, we’re here to support you. Here’s how to get started:
Plan Your Clean-Up
- Choose a location in Fort Erie that could use some TLC (parks, beaches, trails).
- Select a date and time that works for your group. Morning events are often ideal.
Register Your Event and Gather Supplies
- Send your clean up details to the Manager of Recreation and Facilities Kristina Clint at kclint@forterie.ca
- This ensures the town can provide support, supplies, and guidance.
- The Town will provide supplies including gloves and garbage bags.
Set Rules & Safety Guidelines
- All volunteers are required to wear appropriate clothing and protective gear
- Avoid hazardous items (broken glass, sharp metals, etc.)
- Report any dangerous materials to town staff.
- Make sure everyone stays hydrated and takes breaks as needed.
- Volunteers will be required to sign a waiver and review the safety guidelines provided by the Town.
Promote Participation
- Spread the word on social media, in community newsletters, and through local schools.
- Encourage neighbours and friends to participate and make it a fun, collaborative effort!
