Beach Rules
The following rules apply to anyone visiting Bay Beach during our hours of operation:
- Before entering, all beachgoers must present a valid Bay Beach resident, commercial, or day pass to staff. Proof of residency is not required.
- The Bay Beach hours of operation are Monday to Sunday (including holidays) from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
- Public access to the beach is available outside operation hours unless otherwise mandated.
- There is a set number of people allowed on Bay Beach each day. Once Bay Beach reaches its capacity limit, it is closed to new patrons.
- When entering Bay Beach, security may ask you to show the items in your bags.
- Pass holders can enter Bay Beach through the Ashwood or Main Street entrances and leave through the Ashwood or Schooley Road exits.
The following items are not permitted on Bay Beach:
- Fires
- Glass containers
- Littering
- Alcohol
- Smoking or vaping tobacco/cannabis
- Barbecues
- Pavilions
- Tents of any size
- Umbrellas with a centre pole greater than 2.3 meters in height
- Watercrafts such as boats
Beach staff, security and by-law enforcement will enforce beach rules.
Paddle Boards and Kayaks
The Town of Fort Erie permits the use of stand-up paddle boards and kayaks at Bay Beach.
Stand Up Paddle Boards and Kayaks are allowed:
- Monday to Thursday (excluding holidays) at any time.
- Friday to Sunday and holidays before 11 a.m. and after 6 p.m.
Bay Beach users are encouraged to be mindful of other visitors, follow all posted signage, and operate their watercraft safely when entering and exiting the water.
