Are you passionate about bringing people together and creating memorable experiences? If so, you've come to the right place. Here, we provide all the information you need to apply for hosting a community event in Fort Erie. Whether it's a festival, charity run, cultural gathering, or any other event that promotes unity and engagement, we are excited to support your efforts.

Application

In order to host a community event, a Community Event Application Form is required and must be submitted at least 30 days prior to the event start date.

There is no cost for a Community Event Permit. If the event is held outdoors on municipal property such as in a Town park, you will need to complete a Community Events Application Form.

Once you have submitted your Community Events Application Form to the Town, Business Licencing staff will reach out to you regarding any additional requirements the municipality may have.

All users of Municipal property and facilities must acquire and deliver to the Town of Fort Erie public liability insurance in the amount of $2 million dollars naming 'The Corporation of the Town of Fort Erie' as an additional insured. For events including alcohol, fireworks, animals etc., a larger amount may be required.

If municipal resources are required, please fill out the application form accordingly. Municipal resources not guaranteed, and are dependent upon availability and budget consideration.

Individuals or groups planning to organize or operate any public event where attendees will consume and/or handle fresh food or beverages, or, will receive personal services must notify Niagara Region Public Health.

Are you intending to sell alcohol at your event? A SOP (Special Occasion Permit) is required any time liquor is offered for sale anywhere other than in a liquor licenced establishment. The AGCO will require a letter of non-objection from the Municipality. To obtain this please submit a site map of the proposed licenced area and public liability insurance in the amount of $5 million dollars naming 'the Corporation of the Town of Fort Erie' as an additional insured.

If you intend to have any tents at your event that are larger than 100 sq.ft. and/or erected structures (i.e. stage), you will need to consult with the Building Department to determine if a building permit is required.
